Although is not good looking , at last I spend half month to assemble it as attached picture . At the beginning , no help from manual , because the designer is lazy or busy to create the manual for us , he just give us the guide to reference Kossel Mini !!! So all the customer form a group to discuss and solve problem by themselves . So when install the frame , in fact I assemble wrong, have to disassemble 2 – 3 times again during install electrical part . At last , about 1 – 2 weeks I finished installation of frame and electrical parts , helped by our Kossel 800 seller group . But when setup software and calibrate the machine , we meet trouble again . Our talent team found a special way to calibrate by manual instead of unused G29 auto calibration . We can print now . Here is the calibrate test picture . Do you notice the tiny wire drawing , yes , it is not the perfect , but after create models , it is easy to remove by knife . If try to remove it during printing , we have to adjust slice software parameters at computer side . Anyway , I have not much time waste on it , I just hope to start printing lots of models , skip it now . In order to backup the plastic accessory ( designer’s plastic’s quality is not good and some start to crack .) , I print some spare parts . Then I hope to print bigger toys for my daughter , I start to meet big headache . ( A common issue for FDM printer ) ， Model edge cock ! Above pictures means I lost some model because of edge cocking . When printed Inverted triangle models , plastic material is easy to deform , the edge is probably raise then kick off the printer head . My score is : Lost three big model in one day . It says that ABS is more headache on edge cock than PLA too ! Our strong Victims team create a method to lighten this issue , add a D9 pc fan near the printer head as below picture . Just hope when material comes out , D9 fan can cool it down faster to reduce edge cock ! Printed a special model to install the fan . Now I am printing big model again , hope that it works ! Finally I have to say , custom Kossel 800 is not easy to play , but it is interesting , it attract me to waste time and money on it now !
As I research market more , I notice more and more people jump into trading feild in China , good products are always sold out but poor design products are hard to find customer however paid for advertisement . I start to feel that I should step into product development field , or sooner or later , I can not provide a good products .
Firstly I studied 3D design software : Rhino 3D , which is mainly design for shaping . ( I have no interest to study Pro/E or Solidworks , because those mainly face to molds . I would rather place my design to technician rahter than I involve into the deep sea of molding .
Secondly , I booked the cheapest and still said good quality 3D printer : Kossel 800 , some weeks ago , it is just about USD250 shipped , FDM working method , but able to revise the length / height , or even upgrade as laser cutting machine , CNC machine , PCB printer easily . Another reason is I notice this machine is created by a Chinese talent whom is carefully for his products , his previous products are all good remarks , so he should be a good boy to create Kossel 800. Until today , I have waited Kossel 800 3D printer for some weeks , some one got the machine yesterday because he booked earlier , he print a gift for his daughter , the 3D output seems good enough .
The Kossel 3D 800 printer’s design and quality should be up to the market’s FDM commercial 3D printer , the difference is just in what material it use . It says that if poor material is also OK , just the model because ugly , have to polish by yourself .
OK , just some days left the machine will come to me , I will upload more news about it .
